“Independent Lens,” 10 p.m. (KCTS): “The Powerbroker: Whitney Young’s Fight for Civil Rights” — Civil rights leader Whitney M. Young Jr. becomes the head of the National Urban League, garnering support from the white elite as well as three presidents.
