Man, 80, dies in mobile home fire south of Tacoma

Fire officials in Orting, Wash., say an 80-year-old man has died in a mobile home fire over the weekend.

The News Tribune reports ( http://is.gd/E7Qdvj) the victim was identified as Charles Kimble, of Orting, by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's office.

Lt. Steve Goodwin of the Orting Valley Fire District says fire crews arrived early Sunday to find the mobile home engulfed in flames.

He says several residents tried unsuccessfully to rescue the man through a window. One person who tried to help received minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Orting is about 35 miles southeast of Tacoma.
