Apartment developer AvalonBay Communities has filed preliminary paperwork with Seattle planners for a 7-story, 300-unit complex on the site of the Phil Smart Mercedes dealership in the Pike-Pine neighborhood.
The project, at Belmont Avenue and East Pike Street, would have 20,000 square feet of ground-floor shops and restaurants and underground parking for 300 cars.
The city’s advisory East Design Review Board is tentatively scheduled to consider the project Jan. 16.
