The No. 8 Husky volleyball team was tested at home Sunday against an upset-minded Utah squad. Washington (19-4, 10-4 Pac-12) found itself in a 0-2 hole before taking down the Utes (12-15, 3-11 Pac-12) 20-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-11.
It was the first 0-2 comeback of the season for UW and the first at Alaska Airlines Arena in coach Jim McLaughlin's 12 years.
Washington will have a quick turnaround as it heads to the Bay Area for a Wednesday match against California at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
"It took us a while to wake up," said McLaughlin in a team release. "We did not play well in any phase of the game, but we found a way to win, which is a good thing."
Husky Football
Washington's football game against Utah Saturday at CenturyLink Field will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks, the school announced.
Men's basketball
Eastern Washington rolled past Concordia 96-70 at home in an exhibition game.
Women's basketball
Oregon State defeated visiting Seattle Pacific, 80-55, in an exhibition match.
Men's soccer
Loyola Marymount (5-10-3, 3-5-2) and defeated host Gonzaga (4-13-0, 0-10-0), 3-1.
• Western Washington (8-8-2) fell 3-0 at No. 3 Simon Fraser in its season finale.
Women's soccer
Gonzaga finished its year 8-11-1 after a 4-1 victory over visiting Eastern Washington.
Men's tennis
Washington wrapped up hosting the PNW Intercollegiates with the doubles team of Emmett Egger and Max Manthou falling in the semifinals to Aaron Cissold and Daniel Sardu of Oregon, 9-8, 7-6 (7-5).
Women's tennis
UW freshman Grace Ysidora advanced out of group play and into the knockout stage of the USTA Collegiate Invitational in Portland, Ore., but fell to No. 53 Lauren Herring of Georgia in the first round, 10-6.
Rowing
Washington won the women's varsity eight and JV eight while Washington State won the women's 3V and varsity four races at the Head of the Lake Regatta on lakes Union and Washington.
UW men took the top three spots in the men's eight race and the top four spots in the men's four.
