A couple of notes worth passing along this morning. ...
--- First, a few of you have asked which recruits actually made it to Seattle for UW's Junior Day.
One thing to remember is there's no "official'' list made available to media, so it's mostly a matter of just seeing who is there, the recruiting sites figuring it out, etc.
But a partial list of those who were there includes all five of the players who have committed --- Lakes WR Sammie Long, Tumwater DT Jaimie Bryant, Bellevue LB Sean Constantine, Santa Margarita (Calif.) C Dane Crane and Poway (Calif.) CB Derek Babiash.
Scout.com reported that Crane was one of four Santa Margaria players who visited UW this weekend, including QB/athlete Johnny Stanton. The others were DB Connor O'Brien and offensive tackle Riley Sorenson.
O'Brien is expected to announce his choice of college later today with Scott Enyeart reporting that UW is a heavy favorite. Enyeart has also reported that UW now is recruiting Stanton as an athlete and not a quarterback, and that might impact his decision as, like most quarterbacks, it sounds like he wants a shot to play that position first.
Others known to have been there were:
--- RB Justin Davis of Stockton, who has said he will announce his decision on May 17, with USC still regarded as the favorite;
--- WR Sebastian LaRue of Santa Monica, who according to a report on Scout.com will apparently will wait a while to decide.
--- OG Brayden Kearsley of Beaverton, Ore., who is a commit to BYU but continuing to look around;
--- DT Elijah Qualls of Petaluma, Calif., who according to Rivals.com is still early in the process of making a decision;
--- DE Joe Mathis of Upland, Calif., who also is early in the process;
--- WR Darrell Daniels of Oakley, Calif., who told Scout.com he's unlikely to make a decision until after his high school season;
--- WR Demorea Stringfellow of Moreno Valley, Calif., who told Scout.com he is also still early in the process (and thought to have UCLA at the top of his list).
Other in-state players reported to be there included OL Mason Friedline of King's High (Worthen says UW is recruiting him as a center and that Colorado and ASU are his two other heavy suitors at the moment); LB Myles Jack of Bellevue (he says UW is in the lead for Constantine but Jack will be a battle, with UCLA "really big'' on his list right now); and S Tere Calloway of Seattle Prep, who does not yet have a UW offer.
One player it was thought might make the trip but didn't was OT Nico Falah of Bellflower, Calif..
Also in attendance were a number of 2012 signees, notably QBs Cyler Miles and Jeff Lindquist and safety Shaq Thompson.
IN OTHER NEWS. ...
--- Good overview from ESPN.com of where Chris Polk might fit into the backfield with the Eagles.
--- Interesting 2013 mock draft from CollegeFootballNews.com that has Utah DT Star Lotulelei going first overall.
--- Also, interesting list of top offensive and defensive prospects. Austin Seferian-Jenkins is listed as a No. 2 pick (not in 2013 as he wouldn't be eligible until 2014 --- they are simply listing all college players by potential future value), Desmond Trufant listed as a second-rounder and Josh Shirley a third-rounder.
--- You can get a look at the Athlon's cover with Keith Price among those pictured in this story debating whether USC or Oregon will win the conference in 2013.
